BTE – Behind the Ear is the world’s most common hearing aid style. The hearing technology is housed in a casing that sits behind the ear. A clear plastic acoustical tube directs amplified sound into a dome or a customized ear mould that is fitted inside the ear canal. Available in standard, mini or power.
BTE RIC – Behind the ear receiver in the canal – small, discreet and quick to fit. Barely visible when worn, the RIC style is a device in which the receiver, or speaker is inside the ear canal. Suitable for mild to severe hearing loss.
ITE– In the ear, a custom hearing aid that fits within the outer portion of the ear suitable for mild to severe hearing loss.
ITC – In the canal hearing devices are custom-made to fit in the ear canal with a smaller portion of the hearing aid showing in the outer ear. Suitable for mild to mildly severe hearing loss.
CIC – Completely in the canal hearing devices are custom-made to fit completely in the ear canal. Suitable for mild to moderate hearing loss.
